A Greenville holiday tradition kicks off the season with new surprises

Greenville, S.C. –December 1st, 2016–The holidays are here. Join CBT in their favorite holiday tradition—the annual production of The Nutcracker: Once Upon a Time in Greenville.

Adapted from the classic holiday story from E.T.A. Hoffmann’s story the Nutcracker and The Mouse King, this reinvented version is choreographed by and under the artistic direction of Hernan Justo. This holiday classic is based on the original Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov ballet and its brought to life by the Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsy (1180-1893) musical composition.

Continuing our reinvented holiday classic, Carolina Ballet Theatre presents The Nutcracker: Once Upon a Time in Greenville, bringing all of Clara’s adventures and excitement back home to Greenville. This European inspired production highlights Victorian societal expectations and prosperity all while Clara and her Nutcracker dance their way through the cherished landmarks and scenery of Greenville.

This season’s performance is brought to life by a 100+ person cast including, professional dancers: Laura Mortimer, Meghan Loman, Matt Harvey, Madeline Jazz Harvey, Peter Base, Christopher Collins and Lance Hardin.
